Expanded Responsibilities Include Accounting, Human Resources And Nationwide Corporate And Joint Venture Operations

Westwood, Mass. --- June 12, 2002 --- Filterfresh Coffee Service Inc., a subsidiary of Van Houtte Inc., announced today the appointment of Roger Cohen to President.

Mr. Cohen most recently served as president, Filterfresh Franchise Group, LLC, in which he oversaw franchise operations as well as marketing programs, national sales and business development for all operations in the U.S. In his new role, his responsibilities have expanded to include direction over all Filterfresh operations in the U.S.

Mr. Cohen's association with Filterfresh began in 1988 when he and his wife started one of the original 13 Filterfresh franchises in the United States. Mr. Cohen was the founding president of the Filterfresh Independent Franchise Association and chaired the joint Filterfresh Corporation/Franchisee Marketing Council. In 1999, with the sale of his Filterfresh franchise to Filterfresh Coffee Service Inc., Mr. Cohen assumed the position of vice president, Filterfresh Coffee Service Inc., in which he provided leadership over the Filterfresh Franchise Program, as well as the Franchise community.

Prior to his association with Filterfresh, Mr. Cohen was vice president of sales, marketing and operations for the franchise chain Doktor Pet Centers, where he helped grow the company from 112 to 275 stores. Additionally, Mr. Cohen served as a senior civilian and executive for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, which operates retail and service facilities that provide merchandise and services to military personnel throughout the world.
