Westwood, Mass -- September 10, 2003 -- In order to enhance its presence within the hotel, restaurant and institutional (HRI) and convenience store segments, Filterfresh Coffee Service Inc., a subsidiary of Van Houtte Inc., announced today the appointments of Ronald Miceli and Jody Truesdale as HRI Business Development Representatives. Both will be responsible for generating leads and business development opportunities in the targeted vertical markets of convenience stores and restaurants, respectively.

"With nearly 15 years experience each in foodservice sales and management, Ron and Jody both have been successful in securing and managing new business opportunities," said Roger Cohen, president of Filterfresh Coffee Service Inc. "We look forward to using Ron's expertise in convenience stores and Jody's specialization in restaurants to build the Van Houtte and Filterfresh brands by introducing branded coffees and brewing systems to new HRI and convenience store customers."

Before joining Filterfresh. Mr. Miceli served as Manager of Business Development at Bess Eaton Coffee and Bake Shops, where, in addition to directing the start-up and formation of a new wholesale division, he developed new trade channels that significantly grew the business. Additionally, Mr. Miceli owned four ExxonMobil franchises in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Mr. Miceli is also a certified public accountant (CPA) who served as Controller at the Rhode Island School of Design and Assistant Controller at the University of Rhode Island, where he also received his BS degree.

Prior to Filterfresh, Mr. Truesdale was a National Account Representative at Fieldale Farms, responsible for all processed poultry sales and service to the Southern U.S., as well as new product development. Mr. Truesdale has also held sales positions at several foodservice processors including Lykes Meat Group, Jac Pac Foods, Hillshire Farms & Kahns, HiBrand foods and Columbia Farms. Mr. Truesdale received a BA in English at the Citadel.
